[THE PROCESS]

Method to my madness.

01

Thumbnailing

The initial phase of development is about 80% of the work. The act of picking just right for the scene and synergizing it with the rest of page takes a lot of brainwork. I tend to script my own projects live on the thumbs but I can work with fleshed and non-fleshed out scripts with different authors/editors.

02

Pencils

Sketching/Pencils is where a lot of the back and forth happens. The draft is at it's most malleable so lots of communication is essential. For that reason I like to write notes to best capture the composition. It can be challenging but I enjoy it. I have a lot of experience with passing breakneck deadlines in this phase.

03

Inks

Lines/Inks are quite therapeutic. I prefer all the heavy lifting in the initial two phases so inks come out as best as can be. Not my first role in the pipeline but after over a thousand inked pages I've grown to enjoy it and be confident in my line art.

04

Colors

My love colors phase. For most works I do prefer and assistant flatter for times sake but I can work on my own. I do my best to describe my process but it's very much an intuitive passion. My aim with colors is to make the reader feel totally immersed as if the light of the page was in the same room.
